Frequently asked questions

You can find answers to your questions regarding TutoRIA here.

All LMU students who have not exceeded the regular number of semester for their course are eligible to attend our events, regardless of whether they are local, program, or Erasmus students. The regular number of semesters for a bachelor's degrees is 6 semesters and the regular number of semesters for a master's degree is 4 semesters.

Friends, spouses and siblings may only participate if they are also enrolled at LMU. Unfortunately, LMU staff members cannot join.

This is stipulated by the German Academy Exchange Office (DAAD) which finances part of our program.

Of course - as long as you are enrolled at LMU and have a valid LMU student ID.

You can register for an event via the respective online form on the winter semester program webpage or the summer semester program webpage. You can also find an overview with all the current registration links via Anny.

Please only use your LMU email address for registration. You are welcome to send us an email should you encounter any problems.

Registration is only considered complete if you have also made your payment in time. Some events are free of charge - in this case, you only need to fill in the online registration form.

To complete your registration, you will need:

  • your student ID or comfirmation of enrollment
  • the event fee in cash

Please note!

Registration is binding. No refund will be offered.

Reserving tickets in advance is not possible. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. The receiving time of your online registration is the determining factor. If you manage to secure a spot, we will send you an email with further details. However, if you do not subsequently turn up in time to make your payment, we will offer your spot to the next person on the waiting list.

If you are unable to stop by our office in Schellingstraße in person, a friend may register for you. They must show us your LMU student card and provide your contact details (email address).

If you are unable to take part in an event – for whatever reason – we cannot provide you with a refund.

Of course you may look for a replacement. This person must also be a student of LMU and able to show us their student ID at the beginning of the event. If you need to find a replacement, you are welcome to contact us - we're happy to help. The demand for our events is often very high.

Please inform us about a replacement as soon as possible. To do this, you can send us an email to tutor.international@lmu.de.

In the event of a replacement, you yourself are responsible for exchanging the fees.

Once you have registered, you will automatically be placed on our waiting list if the event is sold out. The receiving time of your registration determines your place on the waiting list. Should we have any extra tickets to offer, we will contact those on the waiting list accordingly.

If you would like to attend an event at short notice, it is worth contacting us via Instagram.

Unfortunately not as this would be unfair. Registration is only possible through our online registration form and with subsequent payment in cash at the TutoRIA office.

All participants are wholly responsible for themselves. The tutors are neither liable for personal (health-related) nor material damages.

The so-called "suspension of liability" form must be signed by every participant at the beginning of each event/trip.

Please note: Accidents that occur during our trips are within the responsibility of the citizens’ advice bureau ("Bürgerberatungsstelle").

Our events are held both in German and English. This means that all the reading materials and tours are in both languages.

When tutor positions become available, the vacancies are advertised in the LMU job portal. Of course a position is also advertised via our TutoRIA Instagram channel.
